I’m a certified life coach, systemic business coach, psychologist, and former journalist. After finishing my studies, instead of finding a job as a psychologist, due to life circumstances I became a journalist. I stayed in that profession for 20 years until I moved to Vienna in 2015. I was prepared that in the new environment and with a lack of German-speaking skills, it would be hard to continue my career in the same way. However, I was not prepared for the identity confusion I faced. I realized that a big part of my identity was linked to journalism, where I had developed a successful career. I worked in various media outlets, mostly as an editor in chief of business news and anchor of a TV debate show.
In the first year as an expat in Vienna, my self-confidence diminished, and I felt that “I had lost the ground under my feet”. I started to search for new professional possibilities outside until I tried the opposite, to search for the resources inside myself. I decided to go back to my first occupational choice – psychology. Even more, I decided to broaden my knowledge with life coaching and systemic business coaching training. Besides knowledge, I realized that the skills I needed for this occupation, I had already mastered during my previous work (as a journalist) and in my private life. Communication, empathy, acceptance, analytical thinking, solution-oriented coaching above all.
Nowadays, I feel a deep appreciation for this learning process and experience as an expat. I understand that we define ourselves through many aspects, experiences, and interactions. This process of personal growth enriches our capacity to “respond” and makes us more resilient to evolving circumstances in life.
Besides expat coaching with my dear colleague Eva-Maria Riess, I run my own website that addresses coaching topics related to building and maintaining self-confidence.

I grew up in a small village about 2 hours west of Vienna. After I graduated from business school, I wanted to see the world and decided to travel around Canada and the US. I discovered my love for psychology when I was given the opportunity to study in Maryland. As a member of the international student community I came across the expression “facilitating diversity” for the first time which wonderfully resonated with my beliefs and my experience in the US. After returning to Austria I continued my studies and got a Masters degree in intercultural studies from Danube University to get a professional background on how to facilitate diversity. Since then I have been working as a counselor and trainer. As a trainer I offer gender und diversity trainings. In my counseling profession I offer support to the broken hearted.
